Fairstone Liontrust (Growth and Income) is an active, global multi asset portfolio range managed in conjunction with Liontrust Asset Management, a large, UK asset management boutique.
The Liontrust Multi Asset team are able to inform and refine their asset allocation and security selection views by leveraging the insights of their broader asset management team capabilities across equities, fixed income and alternatives, which provides excellent insights into global market trends.
The managers’ philosophy is to strive to ‘win over the long term by not losing’. The team have a Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) foundation from which they will tactically tilt towards areas that are exhibiting perceived value. The focus is on valuations rather than market timing; believing that it is important to supplement a long-term SAA with the flexibility to take advantage of shorter-term valuation opportunities.
The team are very experienced and will look to buy funds whose managers have long track records of consistent performance and style bias and as a result will hold for the long-term. In the shorter term they can increase or decrease asset class exposure through passive instruments.
